Renewable energy sources

The company "BE-TO Glina" Ltd. was established at the end of 2009. It is situated at the location of the former cotton processing facility and it covers the area of 24.000 m2 (5.000 m2 of which are closed space).

The core activity of the company is building a biomass power plant which will use wood waste and wood chips as fuel. The cogeneration plant has a total installed electricity capacity of 1 MW and a thermal capacity of 4 MW. Such generated thermal energy will be used for own purposes, as well as for heating nearby public institutions (Penitentiary Glina, elementary and high schools, nursery school, Community Health Centre Glina etc.).

At the abovementioned location we have built our own and entirely new electrical substation with an installed power of 1000kVA. The biomass power plant is connected to the mentioned substation with the connection power of 830 kW. The substation will be used as a facility for delivering generated electrical energy to the distribution network of the Croatian Electricity Company.

The company initially recruited 5 people and soon after this figure increased to 17. Once the project is fully accomplished, the number of employees will grow even further.
